Riding for a Cause: My Journey with Habitat for Humanity’s Ride Around the Lake
I am absolutely thrilled to have completed the 18th Annual Ride Around the Lake! This was my second year supporting this incredible event, and I’m beyond grateful for the chance to raise funds for two very deserving families in our community. Knowing that our efforts will help build not one, but TWO homes is so humbling and inspiring.
As someone who has had the privilege of working at Habitat for Humanity, I’ve seen firsthand the massive impact that home ownership has on a family’s life. It brings stability, safety, and most importantly, a sense of community and belonging. These homes don’t just change the lives of the families who move into them—they create a ripple effect that touches so many people. It’s truly amazing!

The Ride: Challenging, Rewarding, and Full of Heart
This year’s ride was both challenging and rewarding. There were tough moments, but knowing that every single mile was helping a family in need pushed me forward. The camaraderie among the riders was incredible! We cheered each other on, shared laughs, and celebrated every little victory along the way. Whether we were crossing railroad tracks or cruising through gorgeous trails, we rode with heart, purpose, and a whole lot of passion.

And here’s something amazing: thanks to the generosity of 51 incredible donors, I was able to exceed my goal and raise $6,877! Collectively, we raised $460,000—that’s enough to build two homes for two families who are about to start a new chapter in their lives. It gives me so much joy to know that your donations are making this possible. I can't thank you enough for being part of this journey with me.

Looking Forward
As I reflect on this year’s ride, my heart is full of gratitude. Gratitude for the families who will soon have a home. Gratitude for the friends, family, and supporters who have stood by my side. And gratitude for the community that makes all of this possible.
I am already looking forward to next year’s ride and can’t wait to do it all again! Together, we’re not just riding—we’re building homes, creating hope, and lifting up our community.
